Architectural renovations of this former industrial building called for a variety of spaces for a family of six. The owners’ affection for classic modern lines and their sense of whimsy let each space be unique within an overall “clean-line” aesthetic.

2004 and ongoing

As I walked home tonight I could see through the front window the tubular floor lamp and the pool of light it casts. The small prints on the wall are lit, the stairway disappears up into the dark, and the big mirror reflects the hint of something orange, which is actually the pillars in the study. It is pretty spectacular. Emme says it makes it look like we are sophisticated, and she’s right. Thank you. July 2004
